Residential Purchases and Sales
One of the most common activities that almost everyone will do at some point in their lives is buying or selling residential property. Whether it is your first time, or your fifth time, we would love to help you.
We are friendly, approachable and available. We act quickly and accurately. One of our conveyancers has over 15 years of experience doing exactly what you need us to do.
We make the process easy so you don’t have to worry.
You might choose us over another real estate lawyer because we are good at what we do and we care about our clients. We are Burnaby’s #1 rated law firm by Google for good reason.
Fees
We are open about our fees and we don’t want our clients to be surprised.
Typical costs and expenses in real estate transactions are included in our fees including professional fees, courier fees, land title search fees, and office expenses. There may be additional costs that are payable to others such as strata fees or insurance fees, but we will advise you of those if they arise.
Our fees can be found here.
If you are purchasing, you will also be responsible for the property transfer tax which is about 1.5% of the purchase price. GST may apply if you are buying a new home.
These fees apply most of the time where you have a completed purchase and sale contract from your realtor. There are of course special situations that can arise which would change those fees. Feel free to contact us if you feel you may have a special situation.
Commercial Property Transactions and Commercial Leases
We are happy to work with you on your commercial property purchase, sale or other transaction. Our lawyers and conveyancers have experience with commercial property transactions. Fees for these transactions always depend on each specific transaction so you will need to contact us for further information.
Real Estate Disputes
Buying and selling property has a number of risks, and not surprisingly, leads to many disputes. We have experience in resolving property disputes, such as suing to get a buyer’s deposit back, and suing to force a buyer to complete the property transaction. We are experienced in resolving these disputes and would be happy to talk with you about your case to see if we can help.
When you’re reading to get started, use the contact form and we will get back to you the same day, or call us. We look forward to meeting you.
