Associate Lawyer
Megan is a associate lawyer at ATAC LAW whose practice centres on resolving disputes in the civil and commercial courts, with particular depth in construction, real estate, and corporate conflicts. She acts for individuals, privately held businesses, public companies, construction and real estate industry participants, First Nations and their economic development entities, and regulated professionals. Her work pairs disciplined case strategy with a clear reading of what each client is trying to achieve, whether the objective is commercial, reputational, or personal.
Her litigation experience spans contractual disputes, construction deficiency and payment claims, builders liens under the Builders Lien Act, commercial tenancy matters, mortgage and foreclosure proceedings, shareholder and partnership disputes, professional negligence claims, professional regulatory and disciplinary proceedings, and personal injury. Megan guides clients through every stage of a matter: early case assessment, pleadings, document production, applications, negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and hearing. She has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and has prepared and presented written argument before the Court of Appeal for British Columbia. Clients rely on her to frame the issue precisely, prepare the file thoroughly, and advocate with purpose at each step.
Alongside her litigation practice, Megan drafts and reviews commercial agreements, purchase and sale documents, leases, employment agreements, financing documents, and corporate records. She has worked with First Nations and their economic development entities on acquisitions, commercial arrangements, construction and building law matters, land tenure processes, and development initiatives, aligning legal structure with each community's economic goals.
Megan works best on matters where the facts are complex, detailed, and document-heavy. She reads the record carefully, builds the strategy around what the evidence will actually support, and keeps the client's commercial or personal goal in view from the first assessment to the hearing. Megan knows when to press a matter forward and when a resolution serves the client better than a judgment.
