Zoe is a senior associate at ATAC Law. Her primary areas of practice are civil and commercial litigation, sexual assault and assault litigation, and estate litigation.

Zoe has spent many years representing clients in a wide variety of civil matters, and her people-first and creative approach to her practice make her both incredibly successful and appreciated by her clients. Zoe understands that legal issues and litigation are often very stressful and she seeks to assist her clients in ways that are tailored to their particular needs, especially when working with marginalized groups and victims of trauma. While an out of court resolution is always the goal, she has extensive trial experience and will do everything necessary to further her clients’ interests.

Prior to joining ATAC Law, Zoe worked at a boutique litigation firm based in Vancouver and with additional offices on Vancouver Island, and at a full-service firm in Victoria. She has represented clients from all over the province, including smaller and more remote communities, and has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia.

Successfully represented a client in a construction dispute where a contractor was not paid for their work.

Successfully represented a client in a construction dispute where the contractor provided substandard work and materials.

Successfully represented many clients with motor vehicle accident claims, resulting in significant financial awards or settlements.

Represented a client to assist with estate distribution when they were unable to do so.

•

Successfully represented a client by negotiating a resolution to a complex shareholder dispute.

Successfully represented a client in an estate litigation wills variation claim where the estate distribution to the proposed beneficiaries was being challenged.

Successfully represented a client who was physically assaulted and subsequently injured, achieving a significant financial settlement.

Successfully represented many clients, both male and female, who were victims of sexual assault and abuse and achieved significant financial settlements. These assaults ranged in time from over 60 years ago to present day.

Successfully represented a client who contracted a sexually transmitted disease without their knowledge and achieved a significant financial settlement.

Successfully represented a client at trial for motor vehicle accident injuries and achieved an award of over $1.4 million.

•

Created new law in British Columbia by successfully arguing against a dismissal of a civil sexual assault action on the basis that a release signed in a divorce proceeding did not prevent the plaintiff from subsequently bringing a claim for sexual assault that arose during the marriage.
