The National Energy Board regulates oil and gas pipelines and power transmission projects that are interprovincial or international in scope. The National Energy Board is responsible for ensuring environmental and public safety of these projects. Most National Energy Board hearings are related to oil and gas pipeline projects and their proposed routes. Where a project falls under jurisdiction of the National Energy Board, a hearing must take place in which the project proponent and the Board gathers input from members of the public that may be affected by the project.
We will advocate for members of the public, including public interest groups and First Nations communities, who may be affected by large energy projects in Canada before the National Energy Board.
There are specific rules on how to get standing in front of the National Energy Board. If a major energy project is affecting you, contact one of the lawyers at ATAC Law.
